Music plays such an important role in our lives. Whether you perform, compose, play for your enjoyment or are an enthusiastic audience member, music is integral to our daily happiness. I simply cannot imagine a world without music.

We need your help! As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community music school, Music Academy of Eastern Carolina envisions a community where everyone has this opportunity. We seek to provide access to music for all interested, regardless of age or ability and with a variety of musical styles.

2011-2012 brings an exciting and new challenge to the Music Academy and we need you. We have been given an opportunity to receive a $15,000 gift, if we can raise $35,000 from local donors and funds. With your help, we can make this happen! If everyone gives or pledges just $50, we will make this goal. Imagine if you give more! All gifts and pledges are needed to make this happen and to keep music and community programs growing at the Music Academy of Eastern Carolina.

Can you imagine dreaming about playing or singing and never getting the opportunity to learn? Music is a skill that lasts a lifetime. Unfortunately, many individuals do not have the opportunity to participate in music. They simply cannot afford it. With our current economic climate, this does not seem to be getting better.

Tuition covers only a portion of our facility expenses. As you know, utilities and building costs keep rising. We cannot raise our tuition to meet 100% of the expenses – this would be cost prohibitive for everyone! While many of our students pay tuition,we are delighted to offer financial assistance when a family is in need. We hear all too often about parents being laid off or suffering a reduction in hours, causing families to stop their child’s lessons or ensemble. Please consider sponsoring a student, we will match your funds with deserving students!

Music Academy of Eastern Carolina is home to many music and arts activities. In addition to lessons, classes, ensembles, summer academies and music therapy services, we are home to Pitt Community College Symphony Orchestra, Magnolia Arts Center’s productions, Emerald City Big Band, Greenville Pops Orchestra, Little People’s Creative Workshop and Young Actors Workshop, Greenville Writers Group, many area music studio classes, recitals and more! It is estimated over 8000 people are directly impacted by programs at the Music Academy!

Arts programs magnetize communities! Through involvement in the arts, we have fun and create shared experiences with our loved ones. Amateur arts bring people together. Please consider your gift–whether it’s $25 or $25,000, all gifts are important! Please complete the Pledge Form and return it to the Music Academy.

Thank you for your time and support!
