MUSIC ACADEMY OF EASTERN CAROLINA (MAEC)
Building community
through music
since 1997
Music Academy of Eastern Carolina, a non-profit 501(c)3 arts organization located in the Uptown Greenville, has provided outstanding and innovative music instruction for students of all ages since 1997. We are excited to join the Uptown Community, located across from the Greenville Museum of Art, and look forward to continuing our mission of providing quality music programs for people of all ages and abilities. We offer early childhood programs, beginner and advanced lessons, performing ensembles for a variety of instruments (youth and adults), music therapy services, summer camps, and arts programs for schools and community organizations
We believe an education in the arts is one of the most important and essential experiences a child, youth or adult can enjoy. The Music Academy reaches out to support music education through schools and organizations and brings music into the lives of people with disabilities and medical problems through the music therapy and adaptive music programs.
Our doors officially opened as a non-profit arts organization in July 1997, starting with 3 families and 3 faculty for private lessons and music therapy services! Since the beginning, we have been dedicated to providing programs that cover a broad spectrum of musical interests – private and group lessons, instrumental and voice ensembles, bands, orchestras, music therapy, and summer programs, all covering a broad spectrum of musical interests. We believe it's never too late to learn. Our oldest student was 97 at the time he began with the Music Academy. He fulfilled his life long dream of playing a snare drum with a concert band! We enjoy making people's dreams come true. Each week, students of all ages and abilities, and from more than 15 area towns, join us for music classes and private lessons.
Music Academy of Eastern Carolina (MAEC) also offers coaching sessions to help any student or ensemble with specific needs for performances or auditions. Are you in a musical? A pageant? Are you looking to enroll in a Music School for college? Need theory for college? MAEC can help you on your musical journey.
